Christmas Magic at Blue Butterfly: Festive Fun in Pinner & Stanmore

The lead-up to Christmas at Blue Butterfly Montessori is always a joyful and exciting time for children, families and staff alike. As a Montessori community, we see Christmas as a special opportunity to come together, strengthen our sense of belonging and share meaningful moments with one another.

Throughout the festive season, our nursery is filled with warmth, laughter and celebration as we take part in a variety of seasonal activities and events. These moments not only help create lasting memories for the children, but also reflect our values of togetherness, kindness and community.

In this blog post, we are delighted to share some of the highlights and key events we enjoyed celebrating together in the run-up to Christmas Day 2025.

Festive Fun Begins: Decorating Blue Butterfly Montessori

The excitement of Christmas at Blue Butterfly begins long before the big day! Each year, our staff and children come together to decorate classrooms, hallways and just about every corner of the nursery. From carefully placing baubles on to Christmas trees to placing festive stories on the bookshelves, everyone joins in to bring the magic of the season to life.

The children love helping with the decorations, whether it’s adding sparkly touches, hanging garlands, or arranging festive displays. The staff also get involved, making sure that every space feels warm, colourful and full of Christmas cheer. By working together, we create a nursery that is alive with festive spirit and a place where the whole Blue Butterfly community can feel the joy of the season.

Little Jumpers, Big Impact: Christmas Jumper Week

At Blue Butterfly, we love to celebrate the festive season while teaching our little ones the importance of kindness and giving. This year, our children took part in a special fundraising initiative for Save the Children by wearing their favourite Christmas jumpers for a whole week!

It was wonderful to see the children embracing the festive spirit, from twinkling lights to jolly patterns, all while supporting a cause that helps children around the world. Thanks to the generosity of our nursery families and staff, we are thrilled to announce that we raised £40.00 for Save the Children.

Save the Children is an international charity dedicated to improving the lives of children everywhere. They work tirelessly to provide children with access to education, healthcare, protection from harm and support during emergencies. Every donation helps ensure that children can grow up healthy, safe and with the opportunity to reach their full potential.

We are so proud of our nursery community for coming together to support children in need. Well done to everyone involved. Your festive jumpers have made a real difference!

Festive Flavours & Happy Faces: Children’s Christmas Lunch

Every year, the children enjoy a special Christmas lunch, freshly cooked by our wonderful and dedicated kitchen team.

Each classroom joins in the festive fun by decorating their tables with sparkle and cheer, making this mealtime extra magical. The children also get crafty, creating their very own Christmas crowns which they proudly wear during the celebration.

Eating together is such a special part of the day, helping us celebrate being as one and bringing our nursery community closer together.

Jingle All the Way: Our Children’s Christmas Parties

Every year in the lead up to Christmas, Blue Butterfly hosts a much-loved Children’s Christmas Party. This special event is a wonderful opportunity for children, staff and parents to come together to celebrate the festive season as one happy community.

The party is always filled with excitement, with a range of fun entertainment provided by the class teachers and external companies. This year, our Yellow Butterflies and Green Butterflies enjoyed a lively Tiny Mites sing-along, while the Blue Butterflies were entertained by the fantastic team from Non Stop Entertainment. The children loved joining in, singing, dancing and laughing with their friends.

Our wonderful kitchen team also played a big part in the celebrations, preparing a delicious spread of freshly made festive food for everyone to enjoy.

One of the most magical moments of the party is a surprise visit from Father Christmas himself, who welcomes the children into his grotto. Every child is invited to meet Father Christmas and receives a special present, making the experience truly memorable for all.
