We are delighted to share some wonderful news with our families! The nursery has completed the PANCo (Physical Activity & Nutrition Coordinator) qualification alongside the Start Well Gold Award. This award recognises our nursery’s high standards in promoting children’s health, nutrition, and physical development, something we are incredibly proud of at Blue Butterfly Montessori.
What Is a PANCo?
A Physical Activity and Nutrition Coordinator is a trained practitioner who specialises in promoting healthy lifestyles for young children. The role focuses on:
- Supporting children’s physical development
- Encouraging active play and movement
- Promoting healthy eating habits
- Supporting children’s emotional wellbeing
- Working with staff and parents to create a positive, health-focused environment
A PANCo acts as the “wellbeing champion” within the nursery, making sure that everything we do supports children in developing healthy habits for life.
